The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on behalf of the government and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo congratulated Christians across Nigeria and in the diaspora on the occasion of Easter, describing it as a time for reflection and renewal.
He urged Nigerians to embrace the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, tolerance, and love, as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies aimed at achieving national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity for all citizens.
