The Federal Ministry of Education has unveiled Inspire Live(s), a nationwide online real-time learning initiative designed to expand access to quality education for schoolchildren across Nigeria.

Announcing the programme in a statement signed by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations, the ministry described the initiative as a transformative step toward equitable learning opportunities for all Nigerian children. It added that the project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes modern, inclusive, and technology-driven education.

According to the ministry, Inspire Live(s) was developed to bridge persistent gaps in the education system, including shortages of qualified teachers and learning disruptions caused by insecurity or other challenges. Through live, interactive online lessons streamed directly to learners, the platform aims to “democratise access to quality education and ensure that no child is left behind regardless of location or circumstance.”

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, confirmed that full implementation has commenced, with the rollout set to expand to all classes from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3. At present, the platform offers daily online classes for JSS and SSS students from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., delivered by certified master teachers using the Cisco Webex platform.

The ministry listed a wide range of available subjects for both junior and senior secondary levels, from Mathematics, English, and Basic Science to Technical Drawing, Automobile Mechanics, and Civic Education.

To ensure nationwide participation, state Commissioners for Education have been directed to appoint focal officers to coordinate the programme, share details with school principals, and ensure designated schools are equipped with basic ICT tools and internet connectivity. Registration for the online classes, it added, must be carried out by school principals through the Inspire support channels.

The ministry emphasised that Inspire Live(s) is open to all public and private schools nationwide, reinforcing the federal government’s commitment to inclusive and technology-enabled learning for every child.
