The Management of Edo State University, Iyamho wishes to inform all students, staff, and the general public that the purported memo currently circulating with the title: *“SECURITY ALERT – MOVEMENT RESTRICTIONS” is not only false, and unauthorised, and did not emanate from the Office of the Acting Registrar or any authorised staff of the University.
There is no confirmed security breach and no presence of suspected bandits in the university as claimed in the false memo.
The information being circulated is completely misleading, malicious, and should be completely disregarded.
The University wishes to inform the general public that it will not hesitate to take legal action(s) against any individual or group of persons no matter how highly placed they are, who attempt to misinform the public, cause unnecessary panic, or tarnish the image of this institution.
All members of the university community and the general public are strongly advised not to circulate or rely on unverified information, as all official communications will continue to be issued strictly through the authorised channels approved by the University Management.
The university remains safe, peaceful, and fully operational.
