Shock and concern gripped the school community on Sunday evening as a fire outbreak swept through Delta Secondary School, Warri, destroying classrooms and vital school facilities.

In response to the incident, the Delta State Commissioner for Education visited the school to assess the damage firsthand. While sympathizing with students, teachers, and residents of the area, the Commissioner promised swift government intervention to rebuild the affected structures and restore normal academic activities.

Delta Secondary School, alongside Hussey College, is located on land leased by the indigenous Okere-Urhobo people in the 1950s. The school remains an important educational institution within the Okere-Urhobo Kingdom.
