As celebrations continue across Delta State following the groundbreaking of the Uromi Junction Flyover, the daughter of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, has expressed gratitude to God and applauded Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for what she described as the visible impact of his MORE Agenda, particularly in Agbor, Ika Local Government Area.
Okowa-Daramola, in a post on her official Facebook page on Monday, said she was delighted to witness the historic flag-off of the project, describing it as a major step toward infrastructural growth and economic expansion in Ika Nation.

“I was elated to witness the groundbreaking of the Uromi Junction Flyover this morning, a monumental step towards easing traffic congestion, boosting commerce, and improving infrastructural development in Ika Nation,” she wrote.

She praised Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, noting that the administration’s development agenda is already yielding tangible results.
“Thanks to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s visionary leadership, the MORE Agenda is making visible impact and we’re grateful to be beneficiaries of this remarkable project,” she added.

Public Commendation
Romanews, which monitored the event, reports that many Deltans have continued to commend the governor for what they described as giant strides in infrastructure development across the state.
Residents of Ika Nation described the flyover as a transformative project capable of reducing traffic congestion, improving road safety, and stimulating economic activities.
“This is truly a proud moment for Ika Nation. A project like this will not only reduce traffic stress but also open the door for more economic growth in the area. Kudos to Governor Oborevwori for turning vision into real development for the people,” a resident said.

Others also cited ongoing and completed road projects in Patani Local Government Area, including sections of the long-abandoned Uduphori–Toru-Angiama–Tamkunu–Toru-Apeilibiri–Agoloma Road, as evidence of the administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

Supporters further praised former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, noting that Ika Nation benefited significantly from his years of service in various capacities, including Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, and Senator.
“Agbor is turning into a small London,” another resident remarked, describing the ceremony as a joyful and historic event.

Voices of Concern
Despite the widespread commendation, some residents — particularly students — expressed concerns over what they described as limited benefits from the current administration.
A student from Ika North-East appealed for government support in the form of bursaries, grants, or scholarships.

“We the students from Ika North-East have not benefitted anything from this administration — not even bursary or scholarship. We are all striving to make Delta State a better place, and the least the government can do is support us,” the student said.
While acknowledging ongoing infrastructure development, the students urged the government to extend its dividends of democracy to education and youth empowerment.
