The Lagos Zone chapter of the Ibrede Grammar School Old Students Association (IGSOSA) hosted a vibrant and memorable end-of-year party and reunion on Saturday, 15 November 2025 at JJT Park, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
The event, themed “Rebuilding What Builds Us,” brought together old classmates, leaders, families and friends in a warm atmosphere filled with nostalgia, unity and celebration.

In his welcome address, Mike Eya congratulated the Lagos branch for putting together a unique and impactful event.
“I hope this reunion reawakens team spirit and collaboration across the entire body of our dear Alma Mater. As we raise our glasses today, let us also raise our hearts towards unity, love and progress,” he said.

A major highlight of the day was the special presence of Mr. Solomon Ede, the very first teacher of Ibrede Grammar School, who attended with his family to the admiration of all.
A minute of silence was also observed in honour of the late Mrs. Salome Udogu.

Mr. Ubiomo Iruke

In his appreciation, Mr. Ubiomo Iruke, fondly known as “Chief Steward”, expressed deep gratitude.
“I don’t really know how to express my joy. If for the first time Lagos Zone can do this, it means IGSOSA is a yoke breaker. May the good Lord continue to strengthen you all,” he said.
Excitement at the Raffle Draws

The event also featured lively raffle draws in which 11 winners emerged, taking home prizes such as high-quality clothing, sets of drinking glasses, electric irons, a strong blender, and 5.5-litre electric kettles.

One of the winners, Sunny Udogu, could not contain his excitement.
“There were more than 80 people in attendance and I won a raffle for the first time. It was awesome,” he said, thanking fellow winners Barrister Omo-Elo Akokaike and Oroh Obusoh.
Voices of Appreciation

Participants repeatedly praised the organizers and the Lagos Zone leadership for hosting what many described as a “historic” and “awesome” gathering.
“I refreshed myself with the sights and sounds from today’s reunion—photos, videos, dance, chairman’s address, entertainment. It was simply waoo. If there was one lesson, it was the strength in unity,” one participant shared.

Another added:
“With over 80 people in attendance, kudos to the motivational leadership. There is more ground to conquer, but with visionary leaders, the sky is just the starting point.”

Organizing Committee lead, Ambrose Imonikpe, also expressed gratitude:
“Thank you all for believing in me and for choosing me to organize this great event. I truly appreciate everyone.”
Fun, Food and Entertainment

Guests enjoyed a lavish supply of food and drinks, with a DJ keeping the atmosphere lively throughout the day.
According to Sunny Udogu, “The MC was humorous and made the entire event lively as members danced and connected freely.”

The 2025 IGSOSA Lagos Zone end-of-year party ended on a high note—with renewed friendships, shared memories, and strengthened commitment to the development of their beloved alma mater.
