The Kogi State government has advised worship centres located in crime-prone communities to reconsider holding services until security conditions in the state improve.
The warning follows an attack on Sunday at a newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba, Yagba West LGA, where gunmen stormed an early morning service. During the incident, the attackers abducted the pastor, his wife, and several members of the congregation.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and restore safety in the affected area.
