Mahmud Sadis Buba, widely known as Al-ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a letter addressed to the Kaduna State chairman of the APC and shared on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Buba said his decision followed consultations with stakeholders and reconciliation efforts within the party.
“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately,” the letter stated.
He described the decision as difficult but necessary to promote unity within the APC ahead of the elections.
Buba expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani and the party leadership for giving him the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
“The experience has been enriching, and I am grateful for the overwhelming support from my constituents and supporters throughout this journey,” he said.
According to him, rallying behind a consensus candidate had become important for the party’s electoral success and the continued development of Kaduna State and the constituency.
He also reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, insisting that his withdrawal should not be seen as a sign of weakness.
“My withdrawal is a sacrifice for the greater good of the party. I remain committed to working tirelessly for the victory of the APC and its candidate at the polls,” he added.
Buba further appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful and united while supporting the party’s decision.
His withdrawal comes amid controversy surrounding his age ahead of the APC primaries. Critics had alleged that he was 16 years old, circulating what they claimed to be the data page of his international passport online, despite reports stating that he is 30 years old.
