Delta State Chapter of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), today elected Comrade Sonia Unobunjo as the Chairperson and six other leaders to pilot the affairs of the body in the State.
The inauguration, which took place on Friday during the State Congress of the association at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Asaba, saw Comrade Unobunjo and six others elected unopposed executives and formally sworn into office.
The oath of office was administered by Bar. Franca Eke, a former Editor of The Pointer newspaper, while the congress was presided over by the Deputy National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Dr. Lilian Okonkwo-Ogabu.
Speaking shortly after her inauguration, Comrade Unobunjo expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in her and promised to uphold the ideals of NAWOJ by promoting professionalism, unity, and the welfare of women journalists across Delta State.
