The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has extended its heartfelt condolences to its Secretary, Comrade Victor Soroku, following the death of his elder brother, Mr. Emmanuel Soroku.
Leading a delegation of the Council’s leadership and members on a condolence visit to the Soroku family residence in Asaba, the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, assured the bereaved family of the Union’s unwavering support during this difficult period.
Oyowe described the late Emmanuel Soroku as a friend of the Union who maintained a warm and cordial relationship with journalists across Delta State throughout his lifetime.
He said the Council shared in the family’s grief and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul, while asking God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
“We are here not only as colleagues but as one family. The NUJ shares in your grief. Your brother was a friend of the Union, and we will continue to stand by you during this difficult time,” Oyowe said.
In his response, Comrade Victor Soroku expressed profound appreciation to the NUJ leadership and members for the visit, noting that their show of love, compassion and solidarity had brought comfort to him and his family in their time of mourning.
He also informed the delegation that the Union would be notified of the burial arrangements once the family concludes its plans.
The visit ended with special prayers for the Soroku family and for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Emmanuel Soroku.
