President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a three-nation official visit beginning Saturday, May 2, with scheduled stops in France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
According to a statement issued on May 1 by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will first travel to France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the upcoming Africa–France Summit.
The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, is scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12. Discussions will center on key priorities such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to the global financial system.
Onanuga noted that President Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to deepening strategic ties with both African countries and France. The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa–France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will convene leaders to address issues including economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and peace-building efforts across the continent.
Following the Kenya engagement, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to May 15. Held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the forum will bring together over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers.
This year’s forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will focus on driving economic transformation through regional integration, increased cross-border investment, and the development of competitive industries.
At both summits, the President is expected to present his administration’s reform agenda aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for investment and growth. He will also hold a series of high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
