The member representing Warri South 1, Hon (Dr.) Austin Uroye, in a stirring speech at the resumed plenary of the Delta State House of Assembly, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for embarking on and completing several key development projects in his constituency.

Hon Uroye specifically thanked the Governor for the completion of the trans Warri-Ode Itsekiri road project, which he said has improved connectivity and transportation in the locality.

The Lawmaker explained that the completion of the 21-kilometer trans Warri-Ode Itsekiri road with 15 bridges connecting over seven communities in that corridor was a promise made and a promise fulfilled.

He also appreciated Rt Hon Oborevwori for the rural electrification of communities along the locality, enhancing access to electricity and boosting economic activities.

Additionally, Hon. Uroye expressed gratitude to the Governor for the flood control measures project in  Ugbori and Ekurede Itsekiri which he noted has provided relief to residents in the area.

“On behalf of my constituents of Warri South 1 and the Itsekiri nation, I want to express deep and profound gratitude to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for the completion of the trans Warri-Ode Itsekiri road project. That project started from the onset of democratic governance in Delta State with Chief James Ibori’s administration.

“At the inception of the present administration, some of us stakeholders met with the Governor on the need for the completion of the road project, where he promised to complete it. As I speak to you today at the hallowed chamber, that project has been completed. My people, the Itsekiri nation, are overwhelmed with this development, as well as the rural electrification and the Ugbori flood control project,” Uroye said.

Hon. Uroye’s speech was met with applause from the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, underscoring the significance of the Governor’s development initiatives across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The Speaker pointed out that the completion of the trans Warri-Ode Itsekiri road project and others was a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to improving infrastructure and the quality of life for residents in Warri South 1 and beyond.
