Roma Communications, publisher of The Roma News, has congratulated Comrade Churchill Oyowe on his emergence as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, alongside other elected members of the new executive committee.
The media organisation also congratulated Comrade Patrick Ochei, elected Vice Chairman; Comrade Felix Ekwu, State Secretary; Comrade Josephine Omodior, Assistant State Secretary; Caroline Ubini, Treasurer; Comrade Toju Oteri, Financial Secretary; and Comrade Michael Ilaya, Auditor.
In its congratulatory message, Roma Communications described the outcome of the election as a moment for unity, reconciliation and collective advancement, stressing that the contest should not leave winners and losers divided but should strengthen the bonds that unite members of the union.
According to the organisation, the election is not a time for triumphalism or vindictiveness but an opportunity for all stakeholders to close ranks, set aside differences and work together towards building a stronger and more vibrant NUJ Delta State Council.
It called on members of the union to embrace constructive engagement by contributing lofty, pragmatic ideas, opinions and suggestions that would advance the collective interests of journalists and reposition the council for greater achievements.
Roma Communications expressed confidence in the capacity of the new executive, elected under the Consolidation Team, to deliver on its promise of purposeful leadership and take the union to enviable heights.
The organisation emphasised that Comrade Churchill Oyowe’s victory should be seen as a victory for the entire NUJ family in Delta State, urging members to rally behind the new leadership in the spirit of solidarity, mutual respect and shared responsibility.
“As we congratulate the new leadership, we encourage every member of the union to embrace the spirit of togetherness. The task ahead requires collective wisdom, unity of purpose and a genuine commitment to building a union that works for everyone,” the statement noted.
Roma Communications further reaffirmed its commitment to the NUJ Delta State Council, announcing that, as promised, it would dedicate Sunday to giving praises and thanksgiving to God on behalf of the union, in appreciation of the successful electoral process.
The organisation once again congratulated Comrade Churchill Oyowe and all elected members of the executive committee, wishing them wisdom, strength and success as they begin the task of steering the affairs of the union.
Congratulations to the Consolidation Team. May this new chapter usher in unity, progress and greater achievements for NUJ Delta State Council.
