Bishop T.D. Jakes has been celebrated for marking 50 years in ministry, with tributes pouring in to honour his decades of service, leadership and impact in the Christian faith.
In a tribute signed by Ezivuthayo Emaputaland, Editor, Jakes was described as “a great man of God” whose ministry has touched countless lives and helped many people rediscover their God-given purpose.
The tribute highlighted the challenges the renowned American pastor, author and ministry leader has encountered throughout his journey, noting that he endured hardship, pain, opposition and difficult seasons without abandoning his calling.
According to Emaputaland, Jakes’ widely remembered declaration, “It is not over until God says it is over,” has served as a source of encouragement to him and many others facing difficult seasons.
The tribute also reflected on the humble beginnings of Jakes’ ministry, recalling that he started a church with just 10 people.
It described the beginning as a testimony of faithfulness and patience, stressing that his journey was built without “rush, shortcuts or manufactured crowds,” but through commitment to his calling and a belief that God would bring the increase.
“Countless souls have come to Christ through his ministry, and many people have been restored to their God-given purpose because of his obedience to the call of God upon his life,” Emaputaland wrote.
The tribute further expressed hope that Jakes would continue to enjoy strength, good health and fruitful service in the years ahead.
“You will end well, Bishop. May God grant you many more years of life, strength and fruitful ministry,” the writer said.
Concluding the tribute, Emaputaland described Jakes’ 50-year journey as a remarkable legacy of faith and service.
“Congratulations on 50 years in ministry, Bishop T.D. Jakes. What a legacy. What a journey. What a life of impact!” the tribute stated.
Jakes, who has remained one of the most influential voices in contemporary Christianity, has built a global ministry through preaching, teaching, books, conferences and humanitarian initiatives.
His 50-year ministry milestone has therefore been viewed by admirers as an opportunity to reflect on a journey marked by perseverance, leadership and a commitment to Christian ministry.
