The Nigerian Army has commenced a sensitisation exercise for prospective applicants seeking to join the 92nd Regular Recruits Intake (92RRI) in Edo State.
The exercise, which began on October 5, 2026, will run until October 12 at the Festival Hall, Government House, Benin City.
According to a statement signed by the Edo State Commissioner for Public Safety and Security, Rt. Hon. Festus Ebea, prospective applicants between the ages of 18 and 26 are expected to be seated at the venue by 8 a.m. daily.
The statement said Edo State had so far recorded only 291 applicants for the recruitment exercise, against the 300 to 400 recruits the state is entitled to produce under the current intake.
It added that the low turnout had prompted Governor Monday Okpebholo to urge eligible youths across the state to take advantage of the opportunity and participate in the recruitment exercise.
The governor appealed to qualified youths to come forward in large numbers to enable Edo State to meet its recruitment quota.
The sensitisation exercise is expected to provide prospective applicants with relevant information on the recruitment process, eligibility criteria and other requirements for the 92nd Regular Recruits Intake.
The Nigerian Army’s 92RRI recruitment exercise is aimed at selecting eligible Nigerians for enlistment into the Army.
