Ifueko Koko Ewere. Ex Pupil , University of Benin Staff School, a Member of Nigerian Girl Guide Association Edo State and others celebrated Enebeli -Ukpor Mary on her retirement.
Our beloved teacher from University of Benin Staff School is retiring gracefully ,but her impact will never fade!
Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated Teachers’ Day, honoring the dedication and hard work of educators like Aunty Mary, in addition the International Day of the Girl Child was also celebrated this past weekend and our cherished teacher from University of Benin Staff School officially retired, closing a remarkable chapter after a lifetime of mentorship and service.
It’s a sweet moment of time passing, but also a celebration of Aunty Mary’s lasting legacy. We are happy she is retiring strong and healthy .
We will miss her dearly, yet we are deeply grateful for the positive impact she has made in all our lives most especially presents and ex pupils of University of Benin Staff School, and Nigeria State Girl Guide Association Edo State inclusive .
Aunty Mary is one of those rare teachers who truly makes a difference.

I cherish her open arms filled with love, discipline, and warmth for every pupil she met at the school. Being with her always felt like being home.
Her welcoming smile and gentle way of explaining things made learning so enjoyable and easy.
She would bring fascinating things from nature leaves, rocks, insects , and our malleable Plasticine for moulding objects .
and we’d spend hours exploring, moulding and discovering the wonders of the world around us.
Aunty Mary was more than just an academic guide, she genuinely cared about us. She would ask about our weekends, our families, and our favorite foods.
she loved jollof rice as much as we did !!!
She made sure each of us felt seen and heard, a feeling that has stayed with me long after leaving primary school.

Even now, when thinking on the memory lane to primary school, Aunty Mary’s face was one of the first I recall. She’s the kind of teacher who leaves a beautiful, lasting impression.
Aunty Mary wore many hats—especially as a chaperone and Girl Guide leader with the Nigerian Girl Guide Association. She helped shape us from the brownie stage into confident, capable young women. I remember those Brownies / Girl Guide meetings where she taught us teamwork, outdoor skills, and community service. Through her, we learned empathy, kindness, and leadership.
Just as my parents guided my siblings and I, Aunty Mary’s passion for mentoring was contagious.
She planned fun, hands-on activities and encouraged us to be vocal and confident. Her guidance went far beyond academics; she nurtured our growth, inspiring us to become our best selves.
She was previously the State Commissioner of the Nigerian Girl Guide Association Edo State Chapter.
and It’s amazing how one person can leave such a profound mark on so many lives. Aunty Mary’s legacy continues to inspire generations of pupils at University of Benin Staff School.
🙌 With a heart full of love, discipline, and warmth, she inspired generations of students.
Let’s celebrate her remarkable journey and wish her a happy retirement! 🎉
