The attention of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, has been drawn to a viral publication on social media claiming he gave the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement signed by his media consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo categorically denied authoring or being connected to the said publication.
According to the statement, the report is the handiwork of detractors who are bent on discrediting Tompolo because of his firm stance against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta region.
“High Chief Ekpemupolo has nothing to do with the issue of Nnamdi Kanu. The publication is a malicious attempt by his enemies to tarnish his image. They have failed and will continue to fail because he remains committed to the total eradication of illegal oil operations in the region,” the statement read.
The statement further reassured the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of Tompolo’s unwavering support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Tompolo is fully in support of President Tinubu and his government. He reaffirms his endorsement of the President for a second term and will continue to work for the realization of that goal,” Dr. Bebenimibo added.
The statement urged the general public and the Federal Government to disregard the false publication in its entirety.
