President of the United States, Donald Trump has expressed deep concern over the growing wave of violence and persecution against Christians in Nigeria and other parts of the world, pledging that America will stand up for religious freedom and defend persecuted believers worldwide.
Speaking during a recent address, Trump decried what he called the “ongoing atrocities” being committed against Christian communities, particularly in Nigeria’s northern and Middle Belt regions, where deadly attacks by armed groups have claimed thousands of lives in recent years.
“The world must not stay silent while Christians are being murdered and churches destroyed,” Trump said. “The United States will always stand with those who are persecuted for their faith.”
He criticized global leaders and international organizations for what he described as their “failure to act decisively” in the face of rising religious persecution, emphasizing that freedom of worship remains a core American value that must be defended globally.
Trump’s remarks come amid renewed international concern over reports of targeted killings, abductions, and attacks on Christian villages in parts of Nigeria. Human rights groups have consistently called for stronger international intervention to protect vulnerable communities and ensure justice for victims.
