A two-month-old baby was abducted on Monday in Warri, Delta State, after armed individuals allegedly operating with a commercial tricycle (popularly known as keke) attacked the child’s mother.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 4:00 p.m. along the NNPC Bypass, near the Delta Careers College fence, shortly before the traffic light area.
Speaking to reporters, the child’s mother, Mrs. Rita Oghale, said she boarded a tricycle at Shaguolor Junction on Airport Road with two of her children. According to her, two other passengers—a man and a woman—were already seated at the back of the tricycle.

Mrs. Oghale alleged that upon reaching the NNPC Bypass, the male passenger produced a firearm and threatened her, demanding her two-month-old baby. She said the assailant forcefully took the child, collected her phone number, and pushed her and her other child out of the tricycle before fleeing the scene.
The baby, identified as Riches, was taken away by the suspects, whose identities remain unknown.
Mrs. Oghale said the incident has been reported to the police, and investigations are ongoing. She appealed to members of the public with any information that could assist in locating and rescuing the child to report to the nearest police station.
