The United States Secret Service has praised the efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies for successfully securing the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, describing the operation as a testament to strong interagency collaboration.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page after the tournament’s showpiece event, the Secret Service commended its personnel and partner agencies for ensuring the safety and security of players, officials and thousands of fans in attendance.
“Amazing job by the men and women of the U.S. Secret Service in securing the FIFA World Cup Final match,” the agency stated.
The Secret Service also expressed gratitude to its law enforcement partners, including the New Jersey State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), the U.S. Air Marshals, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The World Cup final concluded with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the trophy, bringing the month-long tournament on American soil to a close. The event attracted thousands of supporters and high-profile dignitaries, making security a top priority throughout the championship match.
