The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Chairmen in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the party at all levels, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, and the APC LGA Chairman, Comrade Edem Churchill.

The vote of confidence was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting of the APC Ward Chairmen Forum held on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, where the forum reviewed recent developments within the party in Ukwuani LGA and resolved to reaffirm party supremacy, discipline, and grassroots-based leadership.

Reading from the communiqué, the ward chairmen described their decision as unanimous, stressing that the current leadership structure of the party reflects constitutional order and the collective will of party members.

They noted that confidence in leadership is critical to unity and growth ahead of future political engagements.

“We unanimously pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of the party at all levels, including the Leader of the Party and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; the State Party Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie; and the APC LGA Chairman of Ukwuani, Comrade Edem Churchill,” the communiqué stated.

Beyond the vote of confidence, the forum expressed concern over what it described as persistent disobedience and disregard for the authority of the duly elected APC LGA Chairman, warning that such conduct is unhealthy and inimical to party unity and discipline.

According to the ward chairmen, leadership within the APC is a product of recommendations from ward executives, stakeholders, and party leaders, not the imposition of any individual.

“Leadership has never been, and can never be, the product of a so-called strongman. No single individual wins elections alone. Leadership legitimately emanates from the wards,” the forum emphasized.

The communiqué also condemned what it called sustained and deliberate attacks on the party structure and leadership in Ukwuani LGA since the merger that birthed the APC, describing such actions as threats to grassroots stability and cohesion.

Reaffirming their stance, the ward chairmen openly declared their total support for the leadership style of the APC LGA Chairman, Comrade Edem Churchill, whom they praised for fairness, discipline, and adherence to due process.

“As a forum, we reaffirm and reinstate our total support for the decisions, fairness, and disciplined leadership approach of Comrade Edem Churchill, whose actions continue to reflect party supremacy,” the statement read.

The forum further called on individuals parading themselves as leaders to return to their respective wards and engage ward executives, stakeholders, and party members in order to foster understanding and proper representation.

In a strong warning, the ward chairmen distanced all APC wards in Ukwuani LGA from any purported meetings allegedly convened in Asaba or elsewhere by unauthorized persons, declaring such meetings unconstitutional and their outcomes null and void.

“Such individuals lack the constitutional right to convene meetings on behalf of the party, and any decisions taken from such gatherings are of no effect,” the forum stated.

The communiqué concluded with a call on all APC members to uphold party discipline, respect constituted authority, and work collectively to strengthen the party from the grassroots upward.

The communiqué was jointly endorsed by the ten APC Ward Chairmen in Ukwuani LGA, including Njuwe Titus (Ward 1), Emorode Otavborowe (Ward 2), Ndudi Marley Odagwe (Ward 3), Louis Enudeme (Ward 4), Okwuoyibo Marcel M (Ward 5), Patrick Nwose (Ward 6), Chief Lucky Ojumah (Ward 7), Sunday Idise (Ward 8), Jonathan Oriaku (Ward 9), and Chukwudi Akpotowho (Ward 10).

Copies of the communiqué were also forwarded to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Delta State, APC state leaders, and all APC stakeholders and members in Ukwuani Local Government Area.
