Minister of Works David Umahi has disclosed that Mary Habila, the nurse who died at his residence in Ebonyi State, reportedly complained of a nosebleed to her boyfriend shortly before her death.

Umahi made the revelation on Thursday while addressing journalists at a press conference in Abuja, where he provided updates on major road and infrastructure projects recently approved by President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on the circumstances surrounding Habila’s death, the minister described the late nurse as “like a daughter,” noting that she had worked closely with him for about three years.

According to Umahi, information available to him indicates that Habila informed her boyfriend about experiencing a nosebleed before she died. He did not, however, draw any conclusions about the cause of her death, as investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The minister expressed sadness over Habila’s passing and called for the facts surrounding the incident to be established through the appropriate investigative process.
