Today, I chaired the 151st meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC), held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Prominent among the decisions reached at the meeting was the endorsement of the framework for the Renewed Hope Development Plan (2026–2030), aimed at consolidating Nigeria’s reform agenda and actualising the $1 trillion economy target of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Council urged the effective participation of all states and stakeholders to ensure inclusivity and accelerated growth.
The new national development plan will build on existing policies, deepen continuity, and align Nigeria’s growth trajectory with the long-term goals of Nigeria Agenda 2050.
NEC also deliberated on ongoing efforts to eradicate the new polio variant in Nigeria and passed a resolution for the Accountant-General of the Federation to accelerate the release of funds for the next round of the national polio immunisation campaign.
