A Nigerian woman based in Canada, Ezinne Nwanorue, has sparked widespread reactions on social media after revealing the condition she gave her husband before agreeing to sponsor his relocation to the North American country.
Nwanorue, who describes herself on Facebook as a prophetic intercessor, certified marriage counsellor, wife and mother of three boys, said her husband, Franklin Nwanorue, must publicly declare his commitment to marital fidelity before he can relocate to Canada.
According to her, the instruction was divinely inspired, and she insisted that her husband must record a video and post it on Facebook and his WhatsApp status before he would be granted a visa.
In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, she wrote: “Before my husband can be given a visa to Canada, he must make a video confessing and post on Facebook and his WhatsApp status that if he comes to Canada and cheats on me, his wife, Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, he will die, in the name of Jesus.”
She further stated that her husband must publicly pledge to remain faithful to her, be a loving husband and continue to be a responsible father to their three children.
“And he will remain faithful to me, his wife, and be a good husband to me, his wife, and be a good father to our children. This is the only way God can give him a visa to come to Canada, thus said the Lord!!!” she added.
The post has since gone viral, attracting mixed reactions from social media users. While some defended her stance as a personal decision aimed at protecting her marriage, others questioned the unusual condition and debated its implications for trust and relationships.
