You Matter Charity Foundation Boosts Ughelli North Traders with ₦2.5 Million Cash Injection

In continuation of its market outreach, “You Matter Charity Foundation”, founded by the wife of the State Governor, Deaconess Mrs Tobore Oborevwori, has presented financial assistance to 50 petty traders at Agbarha main market in Ughelli North local government area.

 

The empowerment scheme aimed at supporting small-scale businesses, particularly those run by women and low-income traders, is part of the foundation’s efforts towards the state’s economic development.

 

Deaconess Oborevwori, who is the Chairperson of the foundation, reaffirmed her commitment to empowering small businesses, stating that the micro-economy of Delta State, especially petty trading, remains very dear to her heart and that of the state government.

Represented by the Ughelli North Coordinator of the Foundation, and wife of the Executive Chairman SUBEB, Evangelist Mrs Joy Mariere, who commended the traders for their support for her husband, affirmed that the empowerment drive is to reciprocate that goodwills.

 

She urged the beneficiaries, including a physically challenged, to make judicious use of the funds received to expand their ventures and become more financially independent.

Deaconess Oborevwori admonished the traders to be consistent in their trades, adding that the MORE agenda of the state government is committed to empowering petty traders to expand their businesses.

 

The Governor’s wife also encouraged the traders who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise, emphasizing that the process is free and remains a valid requirement for participation in future empowerment programmes.

Mrs Oborevwori stressed the need for Deltans to have faith in the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, which focuses on delivering more infrastructure, social security and economic growth in the state.

 

She presented each of the beneficiaries with the sum of fifty thousand naira.

 

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Eunice Akponehwe, expressed gratitude to the wife of the Governor for the initiative and commitment to grassroots development

She said the cash assistance will help boost their businesses and commended Deaconess Oborevwori for her generosity.

The Petty traders had offered prayers for the wife of the Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, and the state government, led by her husband, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for the stability, progress, and prosperity of the state.

The ceremony witnessed a large turnout of women who also offered prayers for the “You Matter Charity Foundation” and growth of the foundation.
