Air Peace has cancelled its scheduled Warri-Lagos flight following a bird strike involving one of its aircraft during landing at Osubi Airport in Delta State.

The airline disclosed the development in a statement issued on Friday by its spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe.

According to the statement, the aircraft encountered a bird strike while landing at the airport, prompting immediate safety measures in line with aviation regulations and the airline’s operational procedures.

Following the incident, Air Peace said its engineering team commenced comprehensive safety and technical assessments of the aircraft to ascertain its airworthiness before it could return to service.

The airline noted that the cancellation of the Warri-Lagos flight was necessary to prioritize passenger safety, stressing that no compromise would be made on maintenance and operational standards.

Air Peace apologized to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused by the disruption and appealed for their understanding as the required inspections and safety checks are carried out.

The airline reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across its operations.
