Senator Neda Imasuen, who represents Edo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has congratulated the Presiding Archbishop of the Church of God Mission International, Archbishop Margaret Benson-Idahosa, on the occasion of her 83rd birthday, describing her as “a living legend of faith, compassion and transformation.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Imasuen said Archbishop Idahosa’s life has been defined by unwavering faith, humility, courage and visionary leadership, noting that her influence has transcended generations and national boundaries.
Speaking on behalf of his family and the people of Edo South Senatorial District, the senator said the celebration was not only of the Archbishop’s longevity but also of her lifelong commitment to the service of God, humanity and nation-building.
According to him, Archbishop Idahosa has, over the decades, provided exceptional spiritual guidance to countless people across the world, nurturing lives through wisdom, compassion and godly counsel.
Drawing from Proverbs 31:26, Imasuen said the cleric has consistently exemplified the virtues of the biblical “virtuous woman,” adding that her ministry has inspired hope, encouraged believers and strengthened the faith of many.
He further likened her leadership to that of Deborah, Priscilla, Lois and Eunice in the Bible, stating that her ministry has transformed lives, raised leaders and strengthened families in the Christian faith.
The senator also commended Archbishop Idahosa for preserving and expanding the legacy of her late husband, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, describing her stewardship of the Church of God Mission International as one of the finest examples of faithful leadership in modern Christian history.
According to him, her steadfast commitment to God’s calling has ensured that the vision of the ministry continues to flourish across nations.
Imasuen praised the Archbishop’s contributions to evangelism, education, youth development, humanitarian service and moral leadership, saying she has demonstrated that true leadership is measured by the positive impact it has on people’s lives.
Quoting Psalm 92:12–14, the senator said Archbishop Idahosa continues to bear abundant spiritual fruit even at the age of 83, adding that her life remains an inspiration to millions within Nigeria and beyond.
He prayed for God to grant the Archbishop continued strength, sound health, divine wisdom and many more fruitful years in His service.
“Your legacy of faith, compassion, unwavering service and transformational leadership will remain a beacon of hope to the Body of Christ and to humanity for generations to come,” Imasuen said.
