Atiku’s Move to ADC Triggers Political Firestorm as APC Chieftains Slam ‘Serial Loser’

Fresh controversy has trailed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar following his registration as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move that has stirred intense debate across Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 presidential race.

Reacting to the development on Monday, former Edo State governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, alongside the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nze Duru, took sharp jabs at Atiku. They dismissed him as a “serial loser,” arguing that he has neither reformed nor stabilised any political party he has been part of.

The APC chieftains claimed Atiku’s political trajectory has been marked by constant party-hopping and electoral defeats, insisting that his latest move into the ADC reflects desperation rather than strategic re-alignment.

They maintained that Nigerians are tired of recycled presidential candidates and urged Atiku to “take responsibility for his political failures” instead of blaming parties he exits.

Atiku, who has contested for president multiple times under different political platforms, is yet to formally respond to the criticism.
