A Brazilian bride was tragically murdered just hours after saying “I do.”
On Saturday, May 9, Nájylla Duenas Nascimento, 34, was allegedly shot by her husband after a violent fight broke out between the two of them on their wedding night, per Brazilian outlets
According to the Civil Police, Nascimento and her new husband, Daniel Barbosa Marinho, a 55-year-old member of the Municipal Guard since 1998, had gotten into a heated argument that quickly turned physical.
As tensions continued to rise, Marinho allegedly used his service weapon to shoot his wife before fleeing, per Antena 3, CNN and Folhamax. While the initial shots were not fatal, he allegedly returned to the scene later and fired at her once again.
Although the Mobile Emergency Care Service rushed to the scene, Nascimento, who is mom to three children from a previous relationship, was tragically pronounced dead during her own wedding reception.
Witnesses reported that family members who were at the scene managed to get all the children safely out of the residence where the reception took place before the horrifying incident, per Folhamax.
