Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appeared to respond to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo following the governor’s remarks mocking Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over his dancing.
On Friday, Davido shared what was purported to be Governor Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result on his Instagram Story. The singer did not include any caption, but the post has sparked widespread reactions, with many interpreting it as a subtle response to the governor’s recent comments.
The development comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election, where Davido has been actively campaigning for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke.
While campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, Governor Okpebholo criticized Adeleke’s leadership style, suggesting that the Osun governor spends more time dancing than governing.
“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance,” Okpebholo said during the campaign.
Davido has consistently expressed support for Governor Adeleke throughout the election season, participating in campaign activities and recently urging residents to ensure a peaceful, free and credible governorship election.
His latest social media post has added a fresh dimension to the political exchange, with the circulation of the governor’s purported WAEC result generating significant attention and debate across social media platforms.
