“‘I Am Married Means Stop’: Stella Justice Nnennaya Calls Out Men Who Ignore Clear Boundaries”

A Nigerian legal practitioner and relationship advocate, Stella Justice Nnennaya, is sparking conversations online after addressing a persistent issue many married women say they face—men disregarding clear marital boundaries.

In a strongly worded post shared on her Facebook platform, Legal and Marriage Clinic with Stella, Nnennaya recounted how she has consistently made her marital status clear to any man who approaches her. According to her, the message has always been direct: “I am married.” She notes that this is often reinforced by visible cues such as a wedding ring, leaving little room for ambiguity.

Despite this, she expressed frustration that some men continue to pursue her, even escalating their advances with emotional declarations like “I love you” or “I cannot sleep without you.”

Nnennaya questioned the interpretation of her words, suggesting that for some men, a clear statement of marital status is wrongly perceived as a challenge rather than a boundary.

She emphasized that the phrase “I am married” should be understood as a firm stop signal not an invitation for persuasion, negotiation, or persistence. “It means boundary. It means respect,” she stressed.

The lawyer further criticized what she described as a troubling mindset among some men who approach women indiscriminately. She argued that such behavior is not a sign of boldness, but rather a lack of discipline and self-control.

Her message concluded with a pointed reminder: not every woman is available, and respecting boundaries is a fundamental aspect of mutual respect in society.

The post has since resonated with many, especially married women, who say her words reflect a common but often unspoken experience.
