ABUJA – Chairman of Eyewitness Network, Kris Ekefre, has formally presented his latest book, The Crux of Leadership, to the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, at a ceremony held in Abuja.

The book explores the complexities, responsibilities and sacrifices that come with leadership, drawing inspiration from the enduring saying, “uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.” It examines the burdens leaders carry and the difficult decisions they are often required to make in the pursuit of national development and public service.

Speaking during the presentation, Ekefre emphasized that leadership goes beyond occupying positions of authority. According to him, true leadership is defined by courage, vision, resilience and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

He noted that The Crux of Leadership was written to inspire both present and future leaders to embrace the demands of leadership with integrity, accountability and a strong sense of responsibility.

Receiving the book, Dr. Yakasai commended the author for making a valuable contribution to the national conversation on leadership and governance. He described the publication as timely, particularly at a period when Nigeria is implementing far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development.

The Tinubu Support Group serves as the coordinating body for support groups backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The event also provided an opportunity to reflect on key achievements recorded by the Tinubu administration since assuming office in May 2023. Among the milestones highlighted were the removal of fuel subsidy, reforms in the foreign exchange market, expansion of road and infrastructure projects, implementation of the student loan scheme, and measures designed to improve fiscal management and attract investment into the economy.

Supporters of the administration maintained that while the reforms have involved significant challenges, they are laying the foundation for long-term economic stability, growth and national prosperity.

Other achievements cited include efforts to strengthen human capital development through investments in education, healthcare and labour, as well as policies aimed at promoting local and foreign investment, creating jobs and boosting productivity.

Observers at the event noted that the themes explored in The Crux of Leadership closely reflect the realities of governance, where leaders are frequently called upon to make difficult but necessary decisions in the interest of national progress.

The presentation concluded with a call for greater commitment to visionary leadership, accountability and nation-building—values that Ekefre believes are essential to Nigeria’s continued development.

Among those in attendance were several distinguished Nigerians, including the Secretary of Eyewitness Network and co-author of the book, Hajiya Bera’u Dahiru Auwal.
