Benin City — Former governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr. Joshua Omokhodion, a former Commissioner for Environment who served during his administration.
In a condolence message, Obaseki described the late Omokhodion as a devoted public servant whose passing represents a significant loss to his family, associates, and the people of the state.
According to the former governor, Omokhodion was a distinguished architect known for his humility, integrity, and commitment to public service. He noted that during his tenure as commissioner, the late official played a key role in advancing environmental sustainability reforms and initiatives that positively impacted communities across Edo State.
Obaseki said Omokhodion’s diligence, loyalty, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and the public, adding that he carried out his responsibilities with dedication and a clear focus on improving environmental outcomes.
He further described him as approachable and relatable, with an ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, qualities that endeared him to many within and outside government circles.
The former governor extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as to friends and residents of Edo State, noting that the late commissioner’s contributions would not be forgotten.
