Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has said the Nigerian president is “well ahead” of what he described as an “orchestrated game” currently playing out in the United States.
Onanuga made the remark in response to renewed pressure from American groups and lawmakers over alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
According to him, the fresh wave of criticism is politically motivated and tied to emerging dynamics in U.S. politics.
“The President is well ahead of the orchestrated game unfolding in America,” Onanuga said, suggesting that the campaign against Nigeria’s image is being fuelled by interest groups seeking to score political points ahead of the U.S. elections.
He maintained that President Tinubu remains committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of all Nigerians, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, and urged Nigerians not to be swayed by external narratives driven by foreign political interests.
