The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run for a second term in 2027.
The decision was made during Wednesday’s plenary session after a motion was introduced by the House Leader, Major Jack, who represents Akuku-Toru I Constituency.
Jack said the motion was intended to commend President Tinubu for “steering the ship of the nation in the right direction,” adding that the president had demonstrated notable leadership and shown “love for Rivers State.”
At least 15 lawmakers co-sponsored the motion, and every member who contributed to the debate voiced support for urging Tinubu to seek re-election.
With unanimous backing, the assembly adopted the resolution calling on the president to contest in 2027.
