Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have reportedly set ablaze primary and secondary school buildings in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, sparking renewed concerns over insecurity in the region.

Sources said the insurgents stormed the affected community and targeted educational facilities, destroying classrooms and other school property. The attack has heightened fears among residents, many of whom are still grappling with the impact of years of insurgency that have disrupted education and displaced thousands of families.

Although no casualty figures were immediately available, local sources described the incident as another setback to efforts aimed at restoring normalcy and rebuilding the education sector in the area.

Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the attack, while residents have called for increased protection of schools and communities vulnerable to terrorist incursions.

The latest incident underscores the persistent threat posed by Boko Haram and ISWAP elements operating in parts of northeastern Nigeria despite ongoing counterinsurgency operations.
