Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been reassigned as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to South Africa following a diplomatic posting reshuffle approved by President Bola Tinubu.
Fani-Kayode, who was initially designated for deployment to Germany, disclosed the latest development on Thursday.
According to the former minister, the reassignment was approved by President Tinubu as part of ongoing adjustments in Nigeria’s diplomatic appointments.
The new posting means Fani-Kayode will now serve as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to South Africa instead of Germany, where he had earlier been scheduled to represent the country.
Although details surrounding the reshuffle were not immediately made public, the development has already generated reactions across political and diplomatic circles.
Fani-Kayode previously served as Minister of Aviation and remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political landscape.
