A former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, has criticised emerging presidential hopefuls within the party, describing them as “desperate politicians” lacking genuine solutions for Nigerians.
Kachikwu made the remarks during a press conference held on Wednesday in Abuja, where he questioned the motives of those seeking the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the next election cycle. According to him, their ambitions are driven more by personal interests than a commitment to national development.
He also raised concerns over internal party disputes, alleging that the recent national convention organised by a faction led by David Mark was conducted in defiance of a court order that had halted the gathering.
The former candidate’s comments highlight growing tensions within the ADC, as competing factions continue to clash over leadership and the party’s direction ahead of future elections.
