An Abuja High Court sitting in Apo, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth N8.94 billion and 11 exotic vehicles linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu.
The ruling was delivered on Thursday by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie following an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
With the judgment, the forfeited assets will be permanently transferred to the Federal Government after the court upheld the EFCC’s request for their final forfeiture.
Achimugu is the founder and managing director of Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Limited. The forfeiture order marks a significant development in the anti-graft agency’s ongoing efforts to recover assets suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.
