The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing his public service record as one marked by courage, resilience and commitment to Nigeria’s development.
Dafinone, in a birthday message, joined Shettima’s family, colleagues and Nigerians across the country in celebrating the milestone, saying the Vice President’s life had been characterised by distinguished leadership and service to the nation.
The senator noted that Shettima’s journey from the banking sector into public service, including his tenure as Governor of Borno State, his representation of Borno Central in the Senate and his current position as Vice President, reflected a sustained commitment to national service.
According to Dafinone, Shettima demonstrated courage and resilience while governing Borno State during a period of serious security and socio-economic challenges.
“His years in public office, particularly his stewardship of Borno State during a period of profound security and socio-economic challenges, have demonstrated courage, resilience and a willingness to serve the nation in difficult times,” Dafinone said.
He commended the Vice President for the experience and commitment he continues to bring to governance, particularly in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Dafinone expressed confidence that Shettima’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs would continue to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening the Nigerian economy, promoting national unity and achieving sustainable development.
“At a time when Nigeria requires leadership that is purposeful, inclusive and anchored in the national interest, I am confident that Vice President Shettima’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs will continue to contribute meaningfully to our collective efforts to strengthen the economy, deepen national unity and promote sustainable development,” he said.
The Delta Central senator prayed for the Vice President’s continued good health, wisdom and strength as he discharges his responsibilities to the country.
He also asked God to continue to guide and protect Shettima and grant him many more years to contribute to the peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria.
“Happy 60th birthday, Your Excellency,” Dafinone said.
