The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Fatai Tijani, has visited the scene of a tragic accident that claimed the life of a Lagos State University (LASU) student, assuring that justice will be served.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday night. She explained that the CP, accompanied by senior officers, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the incident scene in Igando.
During the visit, the police delegation also met with representatives of the LASU Students’ Union. Tijani commended the students for maintaining calm and demonstrating responsibility despite grieving the loss of their colleague.
He assured them that the suspect involved in the fatal incident would be charged to court on Monday to ensure due legal process.
Adebisi reiterated the command’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of lives and property across the state. She also extended condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the repose of her soul.
The visit followed the death of a 300-level student, Azeezat Abdul-Rasheed, who was reportedly knocked down by a vehicle around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Igando area of Lagos State.
