Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of Charles Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, as they began their second term in office.
The ceremony took place in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, where dignitaries, government officials, and residents gathered to witness the official commencement of the new term.
Delivering remarks on behalf of President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima commended Governor Soludo for his contributions to national development, particularly highlighting his role in promoting unity and strengthening Nigeria’s political, economic, and social institutions through thoughtful public engagement and policy discourse.
Shettima described the governor, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, as a visionary leader known for his intellectual depth and commitment to national progress.

According to the Vice President, Soludo assumed office at a time when many politicians were increasingly sacrificing integrity for political relevance and contributing to divisions within the country. Despite these challenges, Shettima noted that the governor has remained steadfast in his dedication to national growth, good governance, and constructive dialogue on issues affecting the country.
The Vice President further praised Soludo as a “man of ideas and honour,” whose contributions to public discourse continue to shape conversations about Nigeria’s development and future.
The inauguration marks the beginning of another four-year term for Governor Soludo and his deputy, as they continue their administration in Anambra State.
