The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has launched an urgent search for a young woman identified as Mirabel following her emotional claims of sexual assault shared on TikTok.
In a series of distressing videos posted on her TikTok page, the content creator tearfully alleged that she was sexually assaulted in her home on February 15. The videos, which have since drawn widespread attention online, show the visibly shaken young woman recounting the incident.
According to her, the trauma has left her battling severe insomnia. She disclosed that she has resorted to taking alcohol or drugs in a bid to force herself to sleep, describing the emotional toll the alleged assault has had on her well-being.
Reacting to the viral videos, the Lagos DSVA announced it is working to locate and reach out to the young woman to provide necessary support and intervention.
The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring survivors of sexual and domestic violence receive protection, medical care, psychosocial support, and access to justice.
The development has sparked conversations on social media, with many users calling for swift action and support for the young woman as authorities intensify efforts to reach her.
