A physically challenged voter, Aminat Akinsola, has expressed satisfaction with the treatment she received while casting her ballot in the ongoing Osun governorship election.
Akinsola, who voted at Ejigbo Ward 4, Unit 6, on Saturday, said she was particularly pleased with the attention and assistance provided to her at the polling unit.
“I’m so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited,” she said.
She commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise and expressed hope that the eventual outcome of the election would reflect the wishes of the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, security personnel deployed to the polling unit were seen maintaining order and coordinating arrangements to ensure a smooth voting process.
Young voters were also organised separately according to gender as part of measures aimed at maintaining order and facilitating the voting exercise.
The development highlights efforts at the polling unit to ensure that persons with disabilities and other voters are able to participate in the electoral process without unnecessary difficulty.
